Experience Big Falls NL

Big Falls on the Humber River here in Newfoundland has been a salmon anglers dream for decades. Long before the opening of Sir Richard Squires Memorial Park, which is located about 36 kilometres from Deer Lake on Highway #422, locals would cross the island by train, ferry, dirt roads and even hike to get to this famous location. The park was opened in 1954 as the first official Provincial Park of Newfoundland and the area used by visitors to the falls before the opening is currently the playground. Local salmon fishermen who have been fly fishing here over the years have named several spots that are now know as Piercy's Hole, Goosney's Rock and Wendy's Pool just to name a few. A major attraction to the park and Big Falls is the Atlantic Salmon. Make your reservations with us today and get in on the big catch.
